MediaPro Music
MediaPro Music is a Romanian recording house, part of the Media PRO Group. Launched in 1997[1], it became integrated business of the Radio Company PRO in 2006. Between the main label and its sub-labels (Acasa Music, Special Projects, MPM Artists and Folklore), most music genres are covered, ranging from rock and pop, to dance, Latin, traditional folk, and children music. Moreover, the company is also involved in event planning (concerts, promotion tours, autograph sessions, press conferences) and publishing activities.
Artists and projects
- Loredana, who had songs ranked number one in the most important TV and radio tops.
- Timpuri Noi, founded in 1983, rose from underground status to fame in 1991.
- Cargo, active since 1985, who won the MTV award for "Best Rock Band" two years in a row, and received a double Golden Disc for record holder sales.
- Keo (singer), a pop singer with French and American influences.
- Analia Selis, Latin singer born and raised in Argentina, won third place at the International Golden Stag Festival of the city of Braşov in 2004, and released two albums in Romania so far.
- Talisman, founded in 1996.
- Vank, a pop-rock band trying to adapt Britpop to Romanian musical tastes.
- Alb Negru, a boy duo singing in Romanian and French, with dance, rhythm and blues, and reggae influences.
- Spin, a pop-rock, five-element band with a female vocalist.
- Acasă Music, a sub-label developed especially for the projects of the Acasă TV artists, such as Adela Popescu, Nicoleta Luciu and Lucian Viziru.
- Folk music, represented by Maria Cirneci and Ileana Ciuculete.
- Cutiuţa Muzicală, a collection of songs written for children and played by well-known Romanian artists. This project was funded through the albums Cutiuţa muzicală – cântece de leagăn and Cutiuţa cu poveşti.
